How do I create a free Komodo Poll?

The setup process for your own free Komodo Poll is fairly easy. Go to our signup section to create your poll.

How do I change/remove my Komodo Poll?

You can change and review all your poll's details in our poll management facility. You can't remove your poll with this section. We chose not to include this feature to prevent users from removing their poll prematurely.

Can I create more than one Komodo Poll?

Yes! You can have more than one Komodo Poll.

How many possible answers can I have on my Komodo Poll?

Each Komodo Poll must have at least two possible answers (with only one answer it isn't really a poll, is it?). Your Komodo Poll may have a maximum of ten possible answers.

How many times can someone vote on my Komodo Poll?

Currently votes are tracked by IP address of the person submitting a vote. Each time someone votes, his/her IP address is recorded with the vote. Within one hour after voting the IP address will expire from our database. So, someone can vote on your Komodo Poll once each hour.

Are there any restrictions?

There are no preset restrictions to the use of Komodo Polls. However, keep in mind that we preserve the right to alter and/or remove your poll without prior notice and/or given reason. We don't like to remove and/or alter polls, but in some cases we must.

How can my Komodo Poll be free?

We started running Komodo Polls mainly for the fun of it. However, with our service becoming more popular we can't affort to run Komodo Polls without our advertisers. You still get your Komodo Poll for free because our advertisers let you.

Can I advertise on Komodo Polls?

Yes, of course. Advertisers enable us to run Komodo Polls. If you're interested in advertising on Komodo Polls, please read our advertising page.

Can I customize my Komodo Poll result page?

No, not at this moment. We are able to run this free service by displaying banner ads on our result pages. If you would be able to customize the result page of your Komodo Poll, you could also be able to remove our sponsors banner ads. At this moment we are considering a range of options which would enable you to customize your Komodo Poll results page. We'll keep you posted on this.

Can you change my Komodo Poll results?

Yes and no. Technically we can change the results of your Komodo Poll. However, because we would like Komodo Polls to be as accurate as possible in recording opinions, we don't and won't do it.

I lost my Komodo Poll password

When you signed up for your Komodo Poll, you received a confirmation email. In that email we mentioned your password. If you can't find that email anymore, you can get a new password by sending an email to polls@komodo-services.com clearly stating the poll name. We will send a new password to the corresponding email address in our database as soon as possible.

I lost my Komodo Poll HTML code

No problem. Simply go to our poll management facility, login in and choose to review your HTML code.

My email address or URL changed.

No problem. Simply go to our poll management facility, login in and choose to edit your personal details.

Why isn't my vote recorded?

As mentioned in this FAQ-list elsewhere Komodo Polls registers the IP address of everyone voting on your poll. If someone is trying to vote again on the same poll within one hour, the vote isn't recorded. A bad thing about this way of preventing poll spamming is that some of you are behind a firewall/proxy which causes your registered IP address to be the same as the IP address of other people behind that firewall/proxy. So, only one of the persons behind the same firewall/proxy can vote on the same poll each hour.
